Distance: 34.8km | Elevation: 2500m
Most height gained in a day for Alfie! Start from the lovely overnight camp site, easy over the river and straight up the climb of the highest Corbett Beinn a' Chlaidheimh. Just one foot short of a Munro and quite steep in places. Then a fair height drop before climb of Sgurr Ban and then onwards. Excellent walking weather all day and fantastic views. Not many other walkers out. Ascent of Ruadh Stac Mor looks very tricky from a distance, didn't seem much easier up close - but no major issues. Nasty blocks on it's decent too - but then a lovely walk over Ruadh Stac Beag (not entirely necvessary) by which stage Alfie definately needed his boots on! Short stop at Shenavall for Alfie to have dinner, then the final stretch along the river back to tent. Sun shining and truely lovely views back the way. Long walk and both truely done in. Dinner and bed!
