After 2 fairly wet days the forecast looked OK. The question was how many. Set out from Sligachan and decided to head up Fionn Choire and start with Bruach na Frithe. Nice start to the day and easy going up into cloud. Once topped, retraced steps again arount the tooth and upto Am Basteir. Managed to find a way around the step and Alfie had no issues to this one. Decision time. Still plenty of time so into Coire a' Bhasteir and looked down the Gorge. Put any thoughts about Pinnacle ridge out of my head and headed down and the long way round. Alfie was back in boots, he went off the edge on a wet slippy bit of rock and I saw him tumbling over. Thought the worst, but first had to get over the same section myself! Just as I did, Alfie can running back up the slope, seeming none the worse for it. I would have been broken! Kept thinking about trying to shorten route but really knew there would be no point height would all be lost in Coire Riabhack. Getting a bit tired so lost route a bit and had to traverse a bit over scree to get onto the ridge. From here it was easy with Alfie needing a bit of help up the chimney and a lift from the final narrow ridge. Clouded in right at the top with some midges! Alfie posted for his final pictures and we retraced our steps back down. Views coming out of the clouds we amazing, I think both of us were smiling. Dinner at Sligachan Hotel to celebrate. Next day was beautiful - but it was time to go home.
