Five amazing days walking in this beautiful area. Uncertainty about the origin of the name - but 'seen from afar' seems like a good description. The Island Mountains (Inselbergs) are worth the long drive. Managed to squeeze in the 8 Corbett's in the area with lovely variety of walks and features. Manage to include the round of the Eas a Chùal Aluinn falls and a Blue bear in the bone caves. Difficult to pick a favourite as they were all special. Some snow lying high up and blue skies most days. Stopped at the Hermitage north of Perth on the way back for an Alfie break - a lovely spot for a leg stretch and MTBing.
